┬ùThe letter ÔÇ£TÔÇØ is used in front of the number to show that fluorescent bulb is a tube.
—Following the letter is a number which represent the diameter of the bulb measured in fraction of an inch.
(X/8) x 1 inch
T8 = (8/8) x 1 inch = 1 inch
Power Factor (PF)
- When the power factor is 1, all the energy supplied by the source is consumed by the load.
- if the power factor is <1, they have to supply more current to the user for a given amount of power use.
- The higher currents increase the energy lost in the distribution system.
- Low Power Factor would cause power system losses in your electrical system.
- Such losses can be reduced or minimized by improving the power factor.
- With the current rise in the cost of energy, improvement on facility efficiency is essential.
